Julian Sacks Wins First Circuit Ring and $148,350 in WSOP $1,675 Main Event at Foxwood

The US poker player Julian Sacks succeeded in winning his first major victory in a live poker tournament so far. Sacks won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit at Foxwoods $1,675 Main Event at Foxwood and was granted with his first Circuit Ring and a cash prize of $148,350.

Apart from the first-place money prize and the Circuit Ring, Sacks also got a free entry into the WSOP Global Casino Championship in 2017, which is expected to feature a prize pool of no less than $1,000,000.

In the past, the player has come close to the victory as he has reached a number of final tables but he has never made it to the first place. Apart from winning the first WSOP Circuit ring in his career, the cash prize generated is the largest live cash he has received so far.

Although the New Jersey-based player had reached to the runner-up position in another Circuit event in the past and had also occupied the third place, he had never made it to the first place. This time he did what he had came for, and his successful performance is even bigger, considering the fact that Sacks had the chip lead at the end of Day 1.

After the tournament was over, Sacks himself commented on his previous experience at Foxwoods, saying he had had the chip lead once before, but had not managed to sustain it because of the great pressure he had been under. This time, he revealed that he had felt more and more comfortable over the final table game’s progress.

Eight players, including Sacks, made it to the final table. At that time, the player was fifth with 875,000 in chips. Muhammad Rahim was the chip leader at the beginning of the tournament’s final day with 2,900,000.

With Julian Sacks ranking first, Travis Stams occupied the runner-up position, winning a prize of $91,770. Jeremy Meacham ranked third, taking home a total of $66,930. The fourth place was taken by Johanssy Joseph.

Muhammad Rahim ranked on the fifth place, while Sean Carlson won $28,428 for his sixth position. The seventh, eighth and ninth positions were occupied by Long Tran, Vinny Dang and Ronald Baker, respectively.
